The House of Music
Costruito nel 1933, l’Ex Gerontocomio cade in abbandono negli anni Ottanta, viene acquisito dal Comune di San Mauro Pascoli nel 2018 e poi restaurato da Cumo Mori Roversi Architetti nel 2020-2022, con riconversione in Casa della Musica. La dignitosa eleganza del linguaggio del progettista Giuseppe Maioli viene portata a nuova vita e riletta filologicamente, aggiornando l’impiantistica, migliorando i requisiti anti-sismici e garantendo l’accessibilità alle persone con disabilità. L’intervento ha costituito il primo tassello del recupero del Compendio Domus Pascoli, comprendente anche il Museo Casa Pascoli, la Ex Scuola dell’Infanzia oggi Centro di Documentazione Pascoliano, il Giardino di Casa Pascoli ed il Parco delle Rimembranze.

Built in 1933, the Ex Gerontocomio fell into neglect in the 1980s, was acquired by the Municipality of San Mauro Pascoli in 2018 and then restored by Cumo Mori Roversi Architetti in 2020-2022, with conversion into a Music House. The dignified elegance of the designer Giuseppe Maioli's language is brought to new life and philologically reinterpreted, updating the plant engineering, improving the anti-seismic requirements and guaranteeing accessibility for people with disabilities. The intervention constituted the first step in the recovery of the Domus Pascoli Compendium, which also includes the Casa Pascoli Museum, the Former Nursery School now the Pascoli Documentation Centre, the Casa Pascoli Garden and the Park of Remembrances.
